How does the food scanner work?

Take a photo of your meal and No Gout uses AI to identify the foods in the image, look up their purine content, and calculate an overall gout risk score for the meal.

What is a safe weekly purine intake?

No Gout uses a general guideline of 3,000mg of purines per week as a moderate limit for people managing gout. This is intended as a reference — consult your doctor for personalized guidance.

Can I correct a misidentified food?

Yes. On the Results screen after a scan, tap the pencil icon next to any ingredient to correct its name. No Gout will re-analyze and update the risk score.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone to cancel anytime.

Is my data stored securely?

Your scan history is stored locally on your device and synced to your account via Firebase when you're signed in. We do not sell or share your personal data.

The app isn't recognizing my food correctly — what should I do?

Try retaking the photo in better lighting, or use the search feature to look up the food by name instead. You can also use the correction feature to manually edit any ingredient after a scan.
